that's why my 30' chain has a standard hook and a pass thru hook. it works great for that.

 

I carry shackles and belts from work.

 

I purchased a 20k lb tow strap this morning. Should be able to stand anything I decide to pull with it, I hope. If not, I have a serious problem.
