Default stumped

hey all, i got a weird question that is stumping me. on my dads 01 7.3 it seems like whenever it rains it takes about 20 min to start his truck, it is stock wiith a ts 6 pos. in it, it seems to take less time when u turn the chip on stock. when it doesnt start the wts light is on for about a second then off, you go to start it and and it just turns over no start..after you cycle the key on and off about 10-15 times the light will stay on for the normal amount of time, then it will start. on that same note after it starts and you go to put the chip on 140 it will die untill you go and drive it a bit. and some times on stock it will start for about 5 seconds then die....im more inclined to cummins so i come to the masters of the powerstrokes..he has an 01 7.3. with an auto trans. and the ts chip, i put a new gpr thinking that was it but it wasnt....thanks seth

Check for any stored codes would be my first step...

Your discription does not lead to very many responses.

The WTS light has nothing to do with the actual time the glow plugs are on... Next time you start it, turn the key to the ON position for about a minute or wait until the Volt-meter jumps back up a little. Then try to start it... If it starts right up, you may need to pop in some new glow plugs or you may have a wiring issue...
