Default 2 things, 6637 air filter and edge programer

I'm sure not new subjects but I just bought a 99 F350 7.3 with 109K on it. 2 things I plan to do to it at this point:

Swap out the air cleaner with a 6637 Air Cleaner system from RiffRaff 77.00/ 92.00 total with shipping but I don't have to mess with customizing anything. Could save a good 30.00 or more by doing it myself but is it worth it? Cold air intake was worth it on my Tahoe.

Get a Edge Evolution 15001 with the guages and EGT/TOT ect. So far best price has been 370.00 and seems like it could be the best bang for the buck.

Are these worth it?????? Any personal experience with these?

I'll be towing a relatively handlerable load at probable 7.5K max. I tow a 72 Bronco to go wheelin but bought this and got rid of my tahoe. I searched for the 99-2003 7.3 since rsearch seemed to show a good long lasting motor. I am looking to do more long distance hauling which is the main reason I bought this too. I belong to the LEBC Lonestar Early Bronco Club and know how much useful info is floating out there.

Thanks!

edge sucks from everything i read for the 7.3

go with the ts style chip burned by whatever tuner you like thats available

for intake i did a DIY using a 4" mandrel bent pipe, with a 45* bend, a 4" exhaust band clamp and the donaldson filter and a 4"-5" worm gear clamp. total cost for me was $78.00 but of course that didnt include the chrome powdercoating i had done. I also got rid of all the turbulence from the accordian plastic intake tube that the oem has. I essentially have the look of a much more expensive CAI for the same money as the RiffRaff

here is mine

Edge doesn't suck but the ts is a better option. I ran an evo on mine for a while and it did just fine.

thanks bud.

and everything i hear about the edge is too high of EGT's, so for me, that sucks. I would rather have lower EGT's and same if not higher gains

Mine wasn't hot compared to my wildman. There was just more power.

Give RiffRaff a call, he can hook you up with a Tymar style intake...

I would go with a TS based chip and a set of anolog gauges. Much better option IMHO.

I trashed my evo and got a TS and couldnt be happier. It keeps EGT a lot lower than the evo. I run a AEM brute force cold air intake keeps it nice and cool. TS offers custom tunes for towing too. Checkout ktperformance.net they got everything you need.
