went to see my mother in the hospital today and when i pulled off the freeway it looked like a smoke screen from the batmobile! what do you think turbo? its a 2000 7.3 with lots of upgrades from dp tuner including turbo,injectors,pump,headbolts,ect.. is ther anything i should check before condeming the turbo? i just bought this truck 3 months ago so i expect a few things to go wrong. if its the turbo should i have it repaired or jus replace it? i live in central california (merced) and if ther are any shops in this area that know the 7.3 i would apriceate any names or numbers

What color is the smoke?

turbo is a garret its oil in the ehaust and it runs fine just smoking after at operating temp worse after getting off the fwy but dosent smoke when i first start it

 

Sounds like bad turbo seals.

 

Take a picture of the turbo...

If its a 38R they can not be readly rebuilt, the center section can be bought, but it generally costs about as much as a new turbo.

But I have a feeling its not a 38R.
