I have a 2002 7.3 that put a rod though the block but i have another block i believe its a 1997 not sure how to tell the year. Just wonduring if there is a way to tell what year it is and if its a 1997 what all is different between the 02 and 97 as far as the rotating aslembly gos

 

95-2003 are all the same... The only differences are in some casting webs and the fuel pump lobe on the OBS for the mechanical fuel pump.

Throw the OBS motor in there, install your injectors, Turbo, HPOP and front accessories and your off.
