Default How to test ICP connector

This is my first post....like most seems like we only get on the forums when we need something. With saying that, I've read up on dong the ICP tests and need some advise on trying to locate a short in the connector. I don't have a breakout box, is it a must to be able to check the PCM and finding shorts?

Go to your local friendly GM dealer and order either one of these part numbers: 88862238 (PT2319) or 88988301 (PT1825). They come with 8-10 inches of wire. Be sure to solder and shrink-wrap the repairs.

That is awesome....found one here in Alaska at our parts store. Thanks, hopefully the short is in the connector and not further up the wiring.

Default Is is safe to run w/ICP unplugged?

Well I didn't get around to testing at the pcm, but I was able to pick up a used icp pigtail connector. I was told today by a Ford Service Tech. today that if it was him he would run it without the ICP plugged it. Granted it is running great even with it unplugged now, but what are the possible issues that could arise from doing this? Is this going to affect performance or fuel economy? I'm putting the new connector on tonight, and will see what that does.
