Question head gasket or injector cups???

I put the international up-pipes on the other day and went for a test drive. completly different truck quite, boost well etc. But i thought i had seen a little more head gasket than normal hanging out around the back part of the head where # 7 is also saw a little coolant right next to it. On the test drive when i hit about 60mph and 20 psi i heard a loud pop and coolent go everywhere and started to white smoke. Pulled over and found the line comeing from the bottom of the degas bottle completely came off and drained my coolent. Any ideas on why this would happen? Injector cups? Head gasket? there is no coolent in water and i can tell you anything about the coolent, its all over I35. Truck runs like it has a miss havnt tried to crank it since friday morning when it happend. Please help

Doesnt sound like an injector cup, sounds like a head gasket.

What were your peak boost numbers with the injectors? Stock turbo still?

Head Gaskets are EXTREMELY rare on the 7.3... Extremely.

I ran at 42psi for about 6 months on stock head bolts with no issues.

Ats turbo housing and stage 2 single shots. The only reason I was thinking injector cups was because I blew the line off of the bottom of the degas bottle. What all could make it do that?

Anything that would pressurize the coolant system could cause that. Did it blow off, or just fall off?

I have driven around with a bad injector cup for about 300miles, it would puke a bit of coolant, but not evacuate the system like you mention.

i have alot of pressure in the coolant system! it blew off and what all would a bad injector cup or cups do? I noticed today that it leaking oil out of the exhaust manifold where it meets the uppipes, apparently i did not get that tight enough, what would cause this head gasket?

You have issues... I would for sure stop driving it and then do a compression check...

Could be head gasket, could be cups, could be cracked block... Hard to say, but a compression check will get you started.
