right. well i would love to have a 38r and some injectors but i think im just gonna go with the rebuild. to much money for me to be puttin into to it right now. intake exhaust and chip is enough fun for me for the time being LOL. but thanks for the help and info guys. it awesome to have found such a great site with guys like you that actually know what your talking about!

Some gauges are important as well so you can keep an eye on temps. At the very least, an EGT gauge.

38R and stock injectors is a great set up. I ran that for about 50k, then stage 1's then stage 2's then Hybrids...

Stock turbo will be fine if your just going to throw a tuner/intake and exhaust on it.

Or to make it more confusing, a van turbo is a nice option. Can easily be had for a lot less than a 38R and pulls a lot harder up top. Mine was great with my stock injectors. Its even better with the Stage Is. I would not run one on stock injectors without tunes but with a chip its great.

i already have boost, tranny, egt, and hpop gauges. and yeah ive heard about van turbos. i dont really know where to look for one tho. how much of a power difference does the 38r make?

Whats the differance between a van turbo and one that in our trucks?

Larger exhaust housing and exhaust wheel...

Lower drive pressures, lower EGT's and lower boost levels...

Meaning less stress on the turbo, and more HP

I just replaced my Turbo with a 38R, my stocker has only 127,000 miles on it...

Just a suggestion, I'll make you a good deal on my stock turbo and you pay shipping.
