Ulsd is why I use 2 stroke oil.in a 7.3 it helps injector noise.it is not bad for fuel filter.one oz of oil to one gallon of fuel.this is a rich mix but easy to calculate.I have heard 2 gal of fuel to one oz of oil works.I run the rich mix and don't notice any smoke. There is a diesel fuel lubricates study showing two stroke oil as one of the best fuel additives for adding lube to injectors.I do recommend doing on a 7.3.I have heard not to use in a 2007 or newer do to emission.

I knew it had to be something other than one-to-one. Your treat ratio is 128:1

so I need to do 2oz to one gallon?

256 oz in gallon.... what ratio should i be using then?

2oz (2 stroke) to 256oz(1 gallon diesel)?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

dont know how to edit last post.

so 1 oz (2stroke) = 256 oz(2gallon diesel). is that the correct ratio?

It can get confusing at the pump, so to make it simple I go 1 to 1-EX- if i get 25 gal of fuel then I add 25 oz of 2 stroke oil.
I just checked and Im useing Supertech outboard 2 cycle TWC 3. I belive you want ashless 2-cycle oil any brand but wallmart stuff is the right price. One gallon is like 13 bucks.

01 powerstroker check out this study
Lubricity Additive Study Results - Diesel Place
I wanted that to be a link, but i guess just search that and it will compare many additives. I think Power Service is on there.

ok thanks I may try a couple tanks on straight 2stroke blend.
a couple tanks of powerservice...then may try a 50/50 blend of powerservice/2stroke oil.

I know every engine is different on what it likes. I figured a fuel filter change every 5-7000 miles should keep it clean.

Save your money...

I run Diesel in my Diesel injectors... Seems to work fine in over 1,200,000 miles of driving the 7.3...
