Default 7.3 high idle

Is there a way to put an on off high idle switch on an 1999 7.3?
just thinking it would be nice to be able to go to high idle at the flip of a switch.

Having a chip with a high idle position is the easiest way to go...

I have it on a 6-POS as well, plus mine will go to high idle on it's own when it's cold outside, I tap the brake pedal and it returns to normal RPM.

Same here. My 99 seems to occasionally idle up after warm so I guess this is normal?

you can get an rpm controller from that were intalled on trucks with pto and ambulances as a charge protect. I pulled one out of a junak ambualance at work my truck already had the harness und the dash and it was just plug and play you can adjust your desired rpm as low as 1200. here is a pic of it

Once the oil temp is warm, and the air temp outside is warm it should not go back into the high idle setting... If the air temp is still cold they will go into high idle again to maintain the oil temp

The AIC is a very cool unit, and if you can get one cheap then go for it... But they are about $150-$400...

You can buy a chip and install a High Idle setting on it for about $450 or so. Then you can have 5 power settings plus a high idle.
