There are a some things you can do to the fuel system although I'm no professional, Most guys add a regulated return onto the SD's because it is what is called a deadhead system. Also some guys delete the fuel bowl and add a regulator. CSIPSD would be able to tell you more about that..

Im sorry to keep asking all these questions but what would be the benefit of that? would it be a good idea since it gets really cold here( this week we have had highs of -20).Also is there anything really prone to going out on these trucks?? so far i have noticed the suspension and front end is by far better than dodges it seems like

Keep the questions coming!

As far as helping in the cold weather, running a good additive would be a good idea so it doesn't gel up on you. If you plan on leaving the truck stock, your fuel system will work just fine.

Things prone to going out would be CPS (cam positioning sensor)...Always good to have a spare one of those in the glove box.

You will know when the truck doesn't start...When the CPS goes out, it will either kill the truck in motion or wont allow it to start as it reads the cam. They aren't hard to change out, i believe its a 10mm and its just in the front of the engine. Its easiest to get to from under the truck...Name: CPSlocation.jpg

awesome thanks. now last question for a while but i notice this truck takes longer to start than my cummins is that normal??? its usually like 3-4 seconds and she pops right off and no smoke at all so i guessing its just the way these trucks are

oh yeah and also when a guy ghets a cel is there anyway to tell what it is other than getting a code reader? like cycleing the key or anything? that the way the 06 works and it pops up on the mileage read out

That could be a number of things...A cold start will take a bit longer. I'd say just make sure your batteries are in good shape. Does the starter look original like its been in place for a while? Could just need a new starter.. Mine pops off pretty quick.

If it starts and runs well then I wouldn't worry. Might just be the nature of the beast.

And no...Powerstrokes you need a code reader to get the codes.

yeah i figured its prolly the cold, batteries are brand new and starter looks fairly new. Also one thing i noticed is when i pulled the dipstick the oil wasnt completely black like on my 06. I drove it about 1,000 miles already and oil looks pretty clear yet. im thinking that a good sign, because in my 06 and dads 04,05,and 06 once the oil goes in its black as black can be.
