Should be quoted at about 25.3 hours.

Multiply that by any standard current shop rate of $80-110 per hour.....

$2030 to $2800 just in labor.

u cant see it but i just crapped my pants a little......i knew it would be expensive but i was thinkin like $2000 would be high and $2500 would be over the top...

my wallet is alrdy starting to cry

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

also my final hp goal is 600rwhp...should i cop out for a higher end rod like swamps billet rods or will the forged rods hold up

Good used short block...

Done deal.

To me, a PMR block remains a PMR block until it blows, or it needs to be torn down for a rebuild.

buy a used forged rod block, then all you have is an engine swap not an engine rebuild.

you could do the cryo treated rods like i'm doing... they said they have guys upwards of 1000hp with nitrous on the same rods, is it true? idk but i'm not gonna test it

Find a low mileage motor on CL, Buy some tools and a motor pick... spend the weekend swapping motors and you would be out the cost of the motor and tools...

And learn a hell of alot.

You can pick up motors all day long for $1200, then you could sell your PMR motor, and all the crap you dont need and make back a good part of what your out.

thats not a bad idea considering my truck is VERY low miles for an 03. i would probly be able to recoup a good amount back considering ive got 75k on it now...

i'm doin all the work myself, but i know to pull and put the motor back is about 1500, then to swap the rods another 1500 give or take?? i honestly couldn't tell you, but like CSI said, just get your tools and a engine hoist and stand, then get after it, i know i sure have learned a lot doing my motor
