I see where your coming from, WINTER to me is 2 to 3 days of 49* weather a/year & N O snow, to me a back road is the alley, where the big green dumpters are kept

It might be a good price but you got an in with his daughter, no pun intedned, so in my mind you should get a better price than the general public. Otherwise nice truck. Good luck with the sale.

oh and the only thing when i drove it that seemed weird to me is when u like floor it or be giving it a good bit of gas and let off it went silent but didnt die and the rpm didnt go down right away it seemed it ddnt go down till i tapped the brake idk if thats normal and i just dont notice it on gassers cuz the engines are quieter.
is that just a trans thing for diesels sense there made for torque and pulling?
cuz i think i noticed the same thing on the 97 i was looking at.
sorry this is so long

Depends what speeds you were at when you let off whether the RPM's will drop back or how far they will drop. If your at highway speeds and let off, they will stay up. If your doing 20mph and let off, they will drop to just above idle.

Yes, It could have been a bad HPOP or bad IPR. Ford usually just starts replacing things without diagnosing the actual problem, thats the only reason i asked in the first place. Most of us go deer hunting with a rifle, they go with a AK-47 to make sure they don't miss.

I wouldn't worry about the RPM's, If the truck idles well, runs and feels strong, when you punch it and it downshifts and scoots. No leaks. Buy the thing already.

Have you started it up on a Cold start yet? I would definitely want to do that.
