its usually in the low 40s in the day time, and 30s at night. im borrowing a friends snap-on ethos scaner this weekend to do some checking. i didnt plug it in at work today and when i left i keyed up the glow plugs twice and it lit right off, but it also wasnt that cool today, mid 40s ... maybe a fluke or maybe that could be the trick, im going to check the hpop res. and scan it anyway this weekend or later this week. Is it usual for the IPR to have problems or bleed off. im just trying to get all the info i can on this thing, this is my first ford diesel and still getting use to how things are controlled and work on it.. it aint like my ol 86 4runner or my 85 toyota pick up, i think i could tear them down and put them back togeather blind folded

The IPR does not hold pressure, it controls it. Once you turn your truck off the ICP will drop to 100-150 within seconds, and in the 90psi range within a few more seconds.
