Intercooler tubes ?
Hey guys hope everyone is having a good holiday. have a question for anyone with an idea or theory. I have a 2000 f-250 7.3 the inter cooler tubes have a plain steel bent tube with a galvenized coating on them and the tube on the driver side is coverd in aluminum and fiber glass witch seems to be a protective sheild for heat from the exhuast manifold. can I remove this protective coating and paint the tubes for looks!!! or will this cuase a problem? performance (except gas milage) is not my issue but engine damage is what my concern is. thanks for your time and input.

Did you get the HPO issue worked out? did it end up being that injector?
FYI, the pipes are all steel except on most of the E99 trucks. There are a very few AL ones out there, but 95% are steel.
I've painted mine several times over the years, and just gave up and stripped them.
