that's what it thought. it seemed a little high. but i blue booked it and they said for retail value it should be right at 16,000 but i'll point out everything that might go wrong with it and see how low i can get them.

i dont know if they use the stuff on the roads down there but im from Maine and we get pretty severe winters and they use a lot of salt and calicum on the roads. the biggest issue we have with the 7.3s up here is the oil pans rotting out. they suck to replace and u def want to keep that in mind when looking at an older superduty. not that there is anything wrong with buying a truck with a failing pan but keep in mind it is around a $3500 fix. I have an 02 f-350 with 365k on it and it runs like new, despite having some cold start problmes recently it has had very little engine related problmes, it has had the automatic trans rebuilt twice but the truck has been used hard all its life no babying it. $16,000 would be an awsome buy on that truck!

i'm in golden colorado and here we use sand in the lower elevations and mag chloride in the mountains. but i was planning on having my mechanic looking it over with me. when i looked at it the first time it was about 5 degrees and there was no way i was going to crawl around on frozen concrete. but when should i expect to replace the front bearing assembly? cos i know they ain't cheap. but i'm going to try and talk him down as low as i can.

ya we have the same problem with that mag chloride crap here in montana.. it was a pain in the a$$ getting it off my stainless steel rims last year, if you wash them regularly that keeps most of it off.. if you could talk him down that would be good but i now a lot of people around here that would jump on the 19k that their asking

i find the wheel berings very un predictable, up here most trucks have plows and the plow trucks usually only get around 110K on adverage out of the berings, my 05 f-250 has 123k and still running the original berings but no plow. the thing that is definatly going to need to be done between 80 and 100k is the ball joints and u-joints plow or not, i have done both u-joints and ball joints on my 05, as well as dozens of other super dutys.
