Default 3 months later and Im still dead

Ok guys...

three months later...my truck is still dead...I wasted a lot of time and a lot of money at a shop run by someone I thought could help me out...anyway, the truck is back in my drive way, same problem. NO START!!

What I was told after $500 of Blahh.... is that I have two codes P1293 and P1294...He said two injectors that are showing open, one in each bank, dont know how right he is. When they tried to do a buzz test, it would quit midway. He tried many times and it never completed the test it would always stop midway.

He said HPOP oil pressure was fine....

After I got it back to the house, I started to look around and I pulled the IDM, opened it to see if I could see any burn marks anywhere, nothing, except for a little burn discoloration on the ornage rubber that is right inside the harness plug.

I started reading all the forums and realised a common problem where the harness tends to rub bare on the drivers side valve cover, I went and looked and saw that there was some wear and that one (orange) wire was worn through. I liquid taped it then wrapped it in electrical tape then plugged the IDM back in and cranked it, but no start

My logic now is that it has to be the harness or the IDM, simply due to the fact that I have two open injectors in two different banks and there has to be a common...is my logic right or am I missing something here?? :confused

My buddy has an IDM that I was thinking about buying off him but its a IDM-110. The one in my truck is an IDM-120. I read on the net that the difference was voltage output...is that right? Will it work on my truck? Will it damage my injector solenoids??

Help me out guys, cuz man im just about burned out and broke!! :spineyes

Thanks guys

I helped a buddy change both sides at two different times, first time truck had NO power and finally would not crank, second time it cranked but ran horrible. I bought wiring harness kit at Napa for $88 it comes with harness gasket and a new plug in, I rewired the pug in one wire at a time as to not switch one and then plugged in new gaskets and replaced valve cover. Works like a charm and his wires were worn on the valve cover also. Might be over kill but you never know if the gasket is bad or shorted out too. Good luck.
