oil cooler leak???????
i have an oil leak coming from my driver side, it started last winter when it got really cold then when it warmed up it stopped like the seals swealled up, no its cold out its doing it again, it looks like its coming from the round cylinder right below my manifold, im told its the oil cooler??? this hard to fix?

Nope its pretty easy. Remove the inner fender well. Move the steering shaft. Two bolts that hold it to the timing cover and three in the rear. Get a new cooler assebly from Ford. Make sure you lube the seals real good(two on each end, if they rip on install you'll get coolant in the oil) and you'll need a shop press to put it all together.

Make sure you lube the seals real good(two on each end, if they rip on install you'll get coolant in the oil) and you'll need a shop press to put it all together.
You do not need to use a press to reinstall it. Just a little bit of weight and it pushs right back together...

On a Super Duty, you basically only need a 10mm socket with a short extension and a drain bucket (since you'll lose a couple gallons of coolant).
There is a gasket on each end (one on the front adapter to the front cover and one from the rear adapter to the block) and 4 o-rings (two blue, two green).
On a 95-97, loosen the driver's motor mount, and use an engine hoist to lift the left side of the engine a little. The cooler goes in and comes out the same way as the SD trucks.
I've done so many that I've gotten them down to about 35 minutes start to finish.
