we need a little more info on the truck, what size tires, any mods or tuners, what type of driving town/town & highway mix/ or all highway. how many gallons of fuel? stock tank and complete miles driven before refuel.

How many mile on the truck? Is it running ok? Have you replaced the fuel filter lately?

Get rid of the K&N filter and get a good air intake, a 4" exhaust, and maybe a mild tuner that will help some with milage. But the stop and go traffic isnt good on the milage aspect of things

When did you last change your oil ??? These 7.3 NEED CLEAN OIL for good MPG. Make sure your air-filter is clean, & check your tire pressure.

your driving habits will have the biggest impact on your mpg, however all the above suggestions are good but I would change out the oil in the HPOP, go to powerstrokehelp.com for the instructions on how to do this, great web page

All what he said plus driving habits. If you're beating everyone off the line at each stoplight, you can garranty 10-12 mpg's all the time. Winter fuel maybe playing a part in this too. I always get less mpg's in winter with the seasonal fuel. Do you also fill the tank every time? I don't because Ex's have 42 gallons (useable) tanks and that is just a LOT of extra weight sloshing around for no reason. Can you try driving with 1/2 tanks? Do you use any additives?
