Default 01 f-350 side mirror electricals

hey i know ford usally sets there vheicles up pretty much the same and i was wondering instead of ripping my mirror off and probeing the socket to see if there is power there already i am curious if anyone know that if the mirrors i have now that are power towing mirrors without lights on them that if i purchase new mirrors with the lights on them would they be functioning. if anyone has any input or experince with this would be greatly appreciated

When I had to replace a mirror for mine, it had all the wiring ready for the turn signals. My truck is a 99 XLT and did not come with mirrors with the turn signals. However I do have power mirrors.

You will NOT have the required power for the signals and marker lights... They did not add them until 2003, so unless Ford is smarter then we all know...

I added them mirrors to mine, was not hard, ran the mirror heat to a switch so I would not have water spots all the time. The marker lights were easy. Only one that took any time was the turn signals, make sure you tie into the front signal output, not the rear, or every time you hit the brakes the lights will come on.
