Default Smog laws

once again broke california needs a way out so another group of ppl well get again. over the past weekend i tried to renew my registration but i couldnt because i needed a smog certificate wtf i never had to do this before. has anyone had to somg their truck and if soo what did they do during the test?

Ihad to do it.. $60.00 at a test station.. opend the hood checked to see it was stock and then plugged into the obII port to check to program.. snap test to check for "excessive smoke" and gimmie $60.00.. No sniffer, rollers or anything just a visual check to see that the truck has not been modified

my check engine light is on with codes p1391 p1393 (glow plugs arent working) and air intake heater sensor is not workin will that fail me if they hook up to the OBD II. i have a 2000 7.3

yes,ANY ses light will be automatic fail. i just did mine and its really simple. checks underhood(i passed with a DIY intake since diesels dont require a carb sticker)riffraff frx,hpx and aih delete.
i talked with the tech for a while and he said he makes it a point to start the truck and check for ses first. saves time and money.
