Driving to little league football game saturday freeway all the way there everything was running as usual (which always seemed to me to be 98%) after a hour of 70mph pulled off the freeway and engine started running real rough (3,4,5 cylinders definitly not all 8) limped over to the game (thank god head coach with players in the back and a playoff game) shut truck off started back up but ran like crap, shut it back off then after the game started the truck ran like crap again this time for 5 seconds and died can not get it started again. Anyone know if this sounds like the idm gone bad?

ICP sensor would not cause run issues like that.
I would bet a UVC harness has come disconencted on one side or the other. An IPR could cause run issues like that.
I am in the area right now, I am going home this weekend but will be back monday night. Would be happy to take a look at it.

Let me try to check out the UVC and the IPR to see if I can get it running again right now it is stuck in my driveway don't have a trailer and towing it from AJ to here was enough excitment for a lifetime. (to many close calls) Could you tell me where the IDM is located going to look into this also but I been told 3 different sizes and in 3 different location.

IDM is up inside the drivers fender, you have to take out the inner fender well (like 10 screws, 3 or 4 back toward the frame pointed upwards 1 up by the bumper and 1 is back by the rocker panel, and like 5 or 6 going around the fender flange then just grab it and start finessing to get it out) once the plastic well liner is out stick your head in there at about 1 o'clock and you'll see that bastard up there looking like a computer. I replaced injectors before figuring out that thing had a single oxidized pin that caused my issues. If you pay over 175 for a refurb'd one your paid too much. Try and clean up the connector first before you pronounce it bad. if you feel its bad look here: http://www.edisacorp.com/p-793-idm-ford-diesel.aspx $166 for a refurb'd unit.
