Default oil topic...again

Okay, so the oil topic has been debated on numerous accounts, and probably on numerous forums, anyways,I have made a personal decision to go synthetic so no need to debate that as my mind is made up. I was going to convert to schaeffers, but...Have a good connection here locally for Rottella T 5w-40 synthetic, so if I can shop local then I will. So has anyone used it? did they like it, and is it CJ-4 approved? dumb question but whats the diff between CI-4 approved and CJ-4 approved? Thanks, always enjoy the input.

CI-4 and CJ-4 are emissions standards for oil, CI is the old school stuff and CJ is the new stuff designed to be safe in DPF/emissions equipment equipped vehicles

I ran the Rottella for a few oil changes years ago... Made me feel good for spending that kind of money on oil... but I still dumped it out at 5k...

entirely agreed, I have a decent deal here locally, and although synthetic is more expensive, i'm willing to fork out the dough, but absolutely, not at all for the so called extended drain intervals, IMO Delo and Rotella had their **** together with the dino oils, which is why I have confidence in the synthetic, the way I see it if dino provides the proper lubrication and protection with appropriate drain intervals, than synthetic will be that much better... In theory

The delo 400 synthetic? I have a decent connection on that as well, shoot their dino is damn good so the synthetic should be damn good, my quest continues
