Default duramax guy needs power stoke help

My buddy has a 2000 7.3 if he takes off first thing in the morning the truck will run rough, stall then start very hard once truck warms up its fine for the rest of the day. If he lets it warm up for 10 to 15 minutes in the morning the truck won't do it and will run fine.

Well... Let it warm up...

Sounds like he has a few bad glow plugs. Possably needs an oil change. How many miles on his truck?

it is very hard on these trucks if its cold and you just hop in and go, if its fine when he lets it warm up for 10 mins. why not just let it warm up

Sounds like a typical 7.3 . My old psd HATED cold mornings. Diesels are completely different animals when its stark cold.

my 6.9 needs about 5 minutes idleing then about a minute down the road and its great on a cold morning. however havent had it long enough to run it through the snowy months but you should definitely let it warm up

Your idle might be set too low.
