Could Ford have made it any harder to get to the turbo. It looks as though I may have to remove it to check some of these things. Are there any tricks or things that I have to watch out for IF I have to take it off. Also IF I have to take it off would it be a good idea at that time to go ahead and upgrade the compressor wheel.

Be glad you don't have a 95-97 truck. The SuperDuty turbos can be off in about 30 minutes......the OBS trucks take quite a bit longer than that. They look hidden on the SD trucks, but they are really pretty easy.

I didn't know you couldn't hear the wastegate open. I can only hear what I guess I thought was the wastegate opening when it shifts into overdrive kinda like a Swoosh noise is that just the air blown back through the turbo. It doesn't sound like the fluttering turbo surge just one solid woosh.

I will take a video of what mine sounds like but the only thing I have is my IPhone and I'm not sure how to post it on here with my phone. Anyone know how?

Compressor stall.

The airflow through the turbine side of the turbo (exhaust) cannot maintain substantial compressor RPM after the shift....so the compressed air in the intake tract finds the path of least resistance; the compressor inlet.

Can the compressor stall be prevented or is it just the way it is? It has always done it just figured it was normal
