lots of ?
Hey I have a 1999 F250 7.3 turbo powerstroke for 5 yrs. been reading a lot of posts have a lot of ? for example what is an air dog? I have a problem with my engine sounds like an injector quit, not sure, pulled codes came up with P0541, P1209, P1211, P1316 also what is an IDM code? I can read and do alot of work myself, I am new to diesels, love my truck, want to keep it. (I'm rambling I know) dont trust dealers and not to happy with how much injectors cost, so before I start ripping into my truck would like some advise please. thanks to all who reply thanks Bernie

It will cause dead injector codes to pop up. Cheap easy fix, takes about a half hour if you don't know what you are doing.
Here is what your codes are.
P1209 Injector Control Pressure System Fault
P1211 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Above / Below Desired
P1316 Injector Circuit / IDM Codes Detected
P0541 Air Intake Heater Control Circuit Low

Well Fords are weird. Some of them just go and go and go. Some of them are attention ***** their entire life. If you have gotten that many trouble free miles out of it I would have to say you got a good one. I had four powerstrokes before I finally made the switch to the cummins engines. My 99, 01, 02, were great trucks and I never spent a dime on them. My 03 7.3L was a complete pile. I hated that truck more than any vehicle I've ever owned. I kept it for a whopping 13,000 miles.
Just change your fluids regularly and keep a clean fuel filter in it and it should last for years.
