depends on what kind of pressures your pump is putting out now. You may or may not need one at this time.

You could either fab up a temporary gauge to check it or you could use a scan tool if you have access to one or you could spend about $150 and buy a High Oil Pressure gauge.

Unless yours is failing now(which it might be getting a little tired) a new one won't really help you much right now. But it will set the stage for future upgrades. If yours is failing then you might pick up a few horsepower as well as some fuel mileage.

if you want to upgrade your hpop i suggest the adrenaline hpop from www.dieselsite.com it is half the price of terminators and i hear nothing but good things about them, they are a good upgrade from the stock pump and a perfect base for stage one injectors if you ever plan on putting them in, is your hpop giving you problems or are you just pondering the thaught?

If u want to wait a bit, Joey at Terminator is coming out with a T1 Upgraded Single pump. Testing has gone really well, and it will outperform his modded 17* he offers.

You have a ton of options out there... I have been running Joeys modded 17* for a while and noticed no change in performance...

Dieselsites AD has been getting RAVE reviews by about everyone

Beans Diesel has a single coming out that sounds slick as hell

Stealth has a single pump that is upgradable to supply as much oil as you could ever need...

Do you have a HPO issue now? If not, I would not touch it.

If I wanted to upgrade to larger injectors and installed the hpop that would power them and not install the injectors until later would that cause problems with the stock injectors? Or will they be fine untill I get the new ones?

Just get some hybrid injectors. U dont need an upgraded HPOP to run them. Thats what i got, and im putting down 460+hp. drive in that tune daily. getting 16mpg and im not easy on the throttle either. THo i dont abuse the truck. Hybrids allow u to wait til later to get the HPOP. You can benefit later on from an upgraded HPOP System

You can run upgraded injectors without a HPO system... Up to 250cc hybrids run just fine on a healthy 17* pump...

Agreed.

There is no reason to add a HPO pump with stage 1's, Stage 2's or up to 250cc hybrids. The Cost/Benifit is just not there.

I think that is the key phrase to keep in mind here. All HPOPs, even stock ones, are not created equal. The amount of miles on them will effect them too.
