I guess sometimes my dads truck wont start, like the ses light stays on when he turns the key on and it wont start, after he cycles the key a few times the ses light goes off and it will start fine then and the rest of the day, and now he is also talking about going down the road sometimes he will get like a dead pedal but it goes away when the truck gets warmed up, he has my old 2000 7.3 with a ts 6 pos. i recently changed both batts. and the grp. im at a loss on what this is, any help will be appreciated

With the keys out, check to see that the chip is fully seated...

If not do that, and tape it in...

If so, try removing the chip for a few days and see if it stops.

Other then that I would be suspect of the TPS (Throttle Pos Sensor)

 

I have a complete pedal assembly with sensor if you want it out of my 2001 F250 if you want it make me a reasonable offer!
