Default Turbo Upgrade

I have been looking into upgrading my turbo and have found an 1.00 exaust housing or the ATS intake housing, I have already changed the wheel to the wicked wheel. Would any of these help me more or not worth it?

What are you looking for? The ATS housing was made to help with surge. A 1.00 A/R exhaust housing will help with drive pressure. Two totaly different things. So it comes back to what are you looking to do?

Not really...

The ATS housing cures surge by moving the surge line up and out of the most common areas they surge at... It does NOTHING for performance

The 1.00 exhaust housing also cures surge by moving the surge line up and out of the most common areas, but it also offers the added benifit of lower drive pressures, lower peak boost pressures and cooler EGT's...

If I were to run a stock turbo again... 1.00 exhaust housing and a wicked wheel...

OK thanks guys I have a wicked wheel already. I wanted to see what I could do to improve my turbo or have a little more performance with out spending a lo tof money on a new turbo when Ive heard that you dont want to build more than 25 lbs in a 7.3.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Oh what will the lower drive pressure do for me?

A 7.3L will handle alot more boost then 25 lbs. The stock turbo won't really hold up to more than that.

I was un-aware that the 1.00 housing helped with surge. I have heard the 1.15 did. good to know.

What will a stock 7.3 handle for boost?

The only mods I have so far are a 4" exhaust and TS 6 position. What would be that next recommended mod? Curious to see how much money I need to start hiding under the mattress.

Stock head bolts... about 40psi. It has more to do with cylinder pressures then boost pressures.

I would hope you have gauges? If not, that should be your next mod. Boost, Pyro and tranny temp. Isspro is the brand I would recommend...

Yes, I do have Boost, Pyro and tranny temp gauges.

I'm on tranny number 3 in the last year, so i have a couple other things I would like to do to head any problems off there again. But, after that I would like to go back to adding power again. What would you suggestions next?

intake, i like my 6637 intake and it cost me 50 bucks!!! take the chip out and send it to a vendor to get re burnt, then if you want to throw some more cash at it, injectors and turbo.

What would the lower drive pressures help with?? Wil the turbo spool faster??
