Default EGT Temps

What are normal egt temps under normal driving
and temps while towing 5000 pounds
It seems that the egts on my truck ( in sig ) climb very quick alot faster than i thought they would
Any answers to what makes egts rise faster or what makes them rise slower
on a basis of normal driving and towing.
I would think that an exhaust and better intake would be a start for the lower egts

600-800 is normal crusing. At idle you should see about 300-350. WOT on a hot setting you could see 1300+. Pulling 5k you should see about 700-900 crusing

Thats with 24k on...

And this is empty on my race setting with a much smaller turbo then I have now...

The bottom two gauges are EGT gauges (0-1600)

windshields are over rated, bring goggles with you and a bandana so you dont fill up on bugs going from work to home

International (guys who make your motor) say 1250* sustained EGT's is fine. Not over that, but at that... I use 1250* as my "red" line. You can go over that for short periods of time when passing, racing, pulling... but only short times. 10-30 seconds to a minute... Some like to push it more then that, but I dont.
