Default boost

i installed my boost gauge and i have no clue how many psi i should be pushing the most I've got to is about 20 psi, is that normal or low? that is with my chip on 80 hp daily driver

Thats about right. Might check your up pipes and such to make sure you dont have any boost leaks...

the up pipes coming from the radiator support to the turbo or what?

Up pipes are on the manifold and up to the turbo...

they are behind the engine, check you inter cooler pipe boots too which would be the ones that you had thaught the up pipes were

I hit 20psi on my 80 hp settin and 22psi on 100hp

ok ive heard of guys hitting 26 psi with there powerstroke so i was just making sure i didn't have a boost issue..

Turn the chip up and you might get a bit more... Boost does not equal power... also boost will change based on elevation... At 5500 feet I smoke like crazy and have a hard time hitting 42psi... At sea level I can bounce off 50 without much trouble.

i knew boost didn't mean power i was just wondering if i might have a leak or something, i guess when i was told that when you 28psi you will blow your motor, i guess i was wrong,

I was running about 35 psi on my 01, that was with the ts 6 pos switch, and boost line unplugged on the wastegate and like the 140hp tune
