does anyone know when you buy a new pcm from ford if it needs to be reflashed. my original computer is a pmt1 my new one just says dpc 422. I just need to know if i haft to take my truck to the dealer so i can get it back on the road.

 

You new PCM is for a 1999 AGD0 9DTA-ASA DPC-422 XC3F-RB 7.3L F-450/550/650DIESEL - AUTOMATIC 50S WARM WTR VJAE0S2 so you will need a reflash

dpc 422 is just a model not your calibration

 

You will NEVER get a PMT1 reflash from Ford. You will get a CKX0 calibration.

The ONLY way to get a PMT1 flash is to send it to a business capable of reflashing such as Power Hungry Performance.

 

ya i would send it to Power Hungry, have them reflash and maybe put a 40 tow tune on it or something? unless you have a chip or programmer already

i have a pcm that is xle and i had a new pcm given to me and its a dac2 would it work for my truck or not? it came out of a 99 f250 7.3 manual.

 

Not without a reburn... The Dac2 is for a manual, the PCM would not be able to control the shifting...

I believe it can be reflashed to a PMT, but I dont know for sure. Best bet would be to ask Bill, Corey or Cody at Power Hungry Performance.
