Default injector cups?

Howdy,
Some of you have read about my problems wich i first thought was head gaskets, and then some of you helped me out and told me to check the injector cups. Well i have the injectors removed and put the cooling system under 27lbs of vacum and it holds, i then filled the cooling system and pressure tested and found it hold 20lbs. i was hoping to see wich one of the injector cups was leaking but no such luck. Does anyone have any other ideas why my cooling system would build enough pressure to push past the cap, or why it smells like varnish and has a blckish soot in the recovery bottle. I AM LOSEING MY COOL!!!!!! Thanks for ant help.
Carl.

You have a cracked or lifted injector cup... Thats Fuel in your coolant.

get an injector cup tool and replace all 8 and flush your coolant and change your oil and go from there.

Default injector cups

Howdy,
Thanks guys, I have the cups, injector o-rings and new valve cover gaskets. I will be installing the cups this weekend. If anyone has any advice or tricks for replacing the cups without removing the heads I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks for all the help any I am sorry for being a green horn diesel tech.

Default injector cups

howdy,
WHAT A PAIN IN THE @##, I have six of the cups out and the pass side rear two cylinders are whooping me. i have built a puller using a 2 inch pipie with a 1/4 plate on the top with a 1/2 hole drilled in the middle and I have been using a 1/2 fine thread bolt with a washer and a nut like a power steering puller. It fitts well under the fire wall but getting the tap started is tough. I have not found a cracked cup yet hopefully one the the last two will be cracked so I have an answer to my problems.

Again... Unless they are cracked bad you will NOT see them... small hair line cracks is what you get...

Default injector cups

Howdy,
Well I have all of the cups out of the engine now and I am cleaning the injector sleeve bores, I am sure anyone who is reading this is laughing how long this taking me, but I am getting there. I have found that it is very difficult to remove all of the small brass shavings from cutting the threads in the cups to remove them, I pushed a peice of towle into the cupps before i tapped them so the only shavings that are left in bore are very few and very small. I am nervous that if I dont remove all of them I may wreck an injector. Are the passages in the injector large enough to pass a small peice through them with all of the pressure they run or is it crutial every little bit of brass is removed? Well I will keep you guys updated, thanks again for the help.
Carl
