my buddy has a 99 7.3 and does not know much about them neither do i. but he needs new injectors and some 1 told him that the #8 injector is diffrent

 

How does he know he needs new injectors? Or does he just want new injectors?

well he just bought this truck like 3 months ago but about a month ago one went on him so he replaced it and the guy who had it b4 him change some but not all. so he would like to get two more so thtat he has mostly new injectors. but ome 1 told him that the number 8 is diffrent then the other?? is that true or not

 

#8 is a AE injector, but you can swap it out for an AD with no effects.

Injectors on a PSD do not just go out... I would suspect a wire issue or o ring issue... Need to run a few tests unless you just like throwing money at it...

Yes, The #8 is a AE injector, the rest are AD's... Ford changed the fuel system in the superdutys (real smart dumbasses) and installed a dead headed fuel system. This caused a slight idle knock so ford came up with the AE injector which has a long lead pilot shot... worthless... Put a AD in there and never look back.

 

so it is diff but wont matter and wht will it do?
