Default ticking sound
When the engine is running I can here a faint ticking sound coming from the motor what do you guys thing it could be and is it a bad thing

Hard to say... Where is it coming from? how many miles on the truck?

It sounds like its coming from the motor pasanger side and the truck has 194000 miles

Could be a valve, Valve guide, Push rod, Valve spring, Injector...

Could be about a million things.

You have access to a scanner or any kind? Run a contribution test and a rotational value test...

Ya I can get a hold of one ill run the tests do you thing it will hurt the motoer at all what ever it is

hard to say... You dont have enough power to normaly hurt anything... Is it pretty bad? or just something your noticing?

Its pretty loud I can clearly here it over the motor but its not extremly loud I think I more or less just noticed it

could be just a lifter getting a little weak or loose... I would have to hear it to really even pinpoint it.
