Default upgrades

I would like to start doing some minor upgrades to give me a reliable and trustworthy vehicle and one thing I have seen mentioned many times is a "ported shroud compressor housing" for the turbo. I'm guessing this in some way improves airflow to the turbo? What are the associated performance gains if I were to install one? And where would I purchase such an item?

The only place to get a ported housing is from ATS... Its a nice product, but if you are not experancing turbo surge, then there is no reason to get one. It is NOT a performance mod, it does not flow anymore air then the factory piece. Just controls surge.

Best thing to start out with is a set of gauges... Pyro, Boost and tranny temp. This will allow you to see what each mod does or does not do for you.

Then, intake, exhaust and some kind of tuner...

I'm addressing everything all at once rather than pick away at it, I have a Banks Big Hoss bundle on order that has all of the common modifications in one package as well as a few other pieces such as a new intercooler.

ugh... Its your money, but you just got butt raped for what you got.

All the hard parts banks sells are very nice, but still on the high side, but there electronics are worthless.

There chip programing has not been changed in 7 years or more. There transcommand is sold because they can not figure out how to tune the tranny thru there chips...

You could get all the benifit with half the cost with a set of gauges, intake, exhaust and a chip... at most add a valve body to that and your set...
