Default Wastegate drill out for flutter sound?

I have a question and maybe someone has some tech info on this....a friend called me and wanted to know if there was a way to drill out the wastegate to provide a fluttering sound as the turbo dumps. He said someone told him about this and he asked me how you do it. I have never heard of this being done, so I have no expeirence in doing it...if it can even be done for that matter....Anyone know?

im sure it doesnt do anything for performance. prob just sound so why not spend the money get a bb turbo or get a wicked wheel or ported housing to make the turbo sound more noticable

a wicked wheel is like 1oo bucks and it is actually good for your turbo. helps prevent surging. people say foil delete makes it whistle more. i did it but i didnt really notice that much

Drilling out the wastegate would do nothing but blow exhaust backpressure past the turbine wheel... what would that do... Lower boost numbers and higher EGT's... o and lack of HP and TQ...

Sounds like a great idea...

Yea I tried to explain all this, but the bonehead insisted it was a worthy cause. Guess I'll just keep trying to beat some sense into him.
