turbo silencer ring

Default turbo silencer ring

I have a 2001 7.3 powerstroke and i was wondering does it have a turbo silencer ring on my stock turbo. Just wondering cause my buddys got a 2002 24 valve cummins and his has one i was just trying to find out and see if i got one before i took my turbo apart.

The powerstrokes don't have one.

I think you guys have one

I recently watched a video on powerstrokehelp.com about engine runaway and if you look at the turbo it looks just like mine ecept mine had a snap ring and the ford one looks like a wheel bearing race

Just slide hammer it out or take the housing off and pound it out

Not sure but it looks just like mine underneath just my 2cents

Go to YouTube and type in powerstrokehelp and check it out it's not stamped steel like dodges it's thinker aluminum but if you look under it it's identical to mine and you can tell it's two piece

As stated above the Powerstrokes do NOT have one

It was probably an anti-surge ring you were seeing on a 38R or "ported" compressor housing. Or even a TN style drop-in.
