Thanks for all the help so far!!

As I told you in the PM, Call and talk to them, I would bet they would do a package deal.

Also post up in the sponser forum above and see what one of our fine sponsers will do for you.

Where you live and what your going to be doing with it, I would get it with the 1.00 housing. I firmly believe that the only way that turbo should be sold is with the 1.15 housing, but with a 450 and the more then likely 4.88 gears that are in it, the 1.00 housing will be a better match.

There is nothing about the 38r I love. It is however the only drop in turbo on the market thats worth its cost. IMHO, your better off going with something you can upgrade, H2e, S-400, S-300, 4094... so on.

First off, thanks to Joe and the rest of you for your input. I ended up going with the following from Swamps.

- 200 cc hybrid injectors
- custom 6 position chip
- Garratt 38R with the 1.0 housing
- AFE proguard intake with a sock - for those long dusty offroad drives
- 5" MBRP turbo back to replace my aluminized unit. I have a Areo Turbine to replace the MBRP mufler.
- ISSPR guages - 4 of them and a pillar

The guys at Swamps have been great to deal with. Very informative and gave me a discount due to the amount I bought from them.

I am looking forward to a mountain drive and a smile!

Hi Joe,

Would the US gear overdrive be a factor with the housing? The unit drops my RPM by about 600 at highway speeds. This changes my ratio to about half way between 3.73 and 4.10's.

With the elevation... I would stick with the 1.00 housing. I think you will run into EGT issues and spool issues with the 1.15... It pains me to say this, because the 1.15 is a slick set up... Try the 1.00 first. If it has any issues, post up, we will get it figured out.
