what is the deal???
Ok looking for direction here.... 2000 F250 7.3, 8 inch lift 37x13.5x20...
Problem is my 4x4. It will engage and pull but makes a loud popping noise at a regular, constant interval. I have replaced all the u joints in the 4x4 driveshaft and none of the old ones seemed worn. I have bought new warn locking hubs and will be installing them this weekend. I will be putting the driveshaft back on at that time.....
Other people are now telling me it could be a pinion gear??? I have no clue I am just starting with the simple and cheap....

seems like you jack one side up far enough to rotate tire and be able to hear if you was having pinion gear problems and angle of drive shaft compared to pinion shaft might cause popping noises good luck on finding problem
