Default Past Oil Change = Engine Dieing

So 2 guys i know if they go past there oil change intterval there truck will be going down the road just fine than act like its running out of fuel and die , worst when the truck is not pluged in during cold weather , as soon as they change the oil and filter there trucks are fine , whats up with this?

welcome to the HEUI injection system...the oil is getting thinned out and not building the right pressure to fire the injectors...

Oil pressure sending unit bad?? Should be setting a code or codes and illuminating the CEL.

the high pressure oil pump it is used to fire the injectors

it could be a seal that is only leaking when oil loses it viscosity
