Default Need your help

I have a 2001 f250 truck with the 7.3 liter diesel and I have been having a problem with it acting like a gasoline engine where you think you are missing a spark to a cylinder and cutting out like it getting no fuel and a repeated hesitation while taking off from a dead stop during normal driving conditions, the wierd thing is that when I give it all the gas during these times or if it is under a pulling power it does not happen or goes away. can ayone shed some light on this for me.
Thanks Joe.

Is the motor cold? Is there a strange hiss coming out the exhaust...
