iirc,..they insulated it due to alot of complaints with alot of noise under the hood...i removed mine and it wasnt worth the hassle of getting that crap off!!

Would there be any problems with cutting my cat converter off and running It a few miles to have a pipe welded back on???

you should be just fine running catless. it might be really loud in the cab with the exhaust exiting their though

what about if you put in a 2003 turbo? Wont it whistle?

2003 7.3 turbo is the same as a 99.5 turbo... no differance at all...

if your talking about a 6.0 turbo, it will not bolt on, you would need a complete mounting kit and it would not be worth the trouble.

None of the 7.3's or 6.0's have one... Its more of a Dodge thing.

The very early 6.0s had one that was removable IIRC. But for only half a year, in 04 they became a machined in part of the turbo.

Not correct, the only differance was the turbine blades, the 03's had 11 and the 04 and up had 13...
