Default oil leak

ok im cant find this leak. i pulled my inercooler tubes off and my y pipe and im looked down in the valley and took a small flex mirror and looked around the turbo and on the hpop cant find the leak. i started the engine and let it run for a few minutes then shut it off placed papertowels in the engine valley nothing showed up. i know its coming from on top of the engine becuase after running down the road a ways the valley will fill up with oil.

When you're idling you're not making much in the way of high pressure oil.

When you get out and run it hard you're going to see oil pressures in the thousands of pounds/sq in in the galleys, the HPOP, and the IPR area.

Chances are your leak won't show up until you put a good load on the engine.

Suspect the IPR, ICP sensor or HPO lines...

that would narrow it down to the gasket between the pump and front cover or there is a small bolt that could be seeping as well.

If its coming from under the HPOP then check your IPR, or the bolt on the bottom side, the one on the left of the picture above.

the HPOP is probably loose or that back plug shown above.... if the IPR was loose your truck would more than likely idle weird among other things....

well i took it off and the gasket looked to be the problem so im going to replace it. i found on another site that a recall kit for a dt466 will replace that bolt on the lower side. the Dt 466 has a similar Hpop so it should cross over. some people have had good luck doing it and from what i understand its fairly cheap compared to the new pump. and in a related subject i found the blue prints or in this case blackprints to make the hpop line disconnect tool. so if you need the bule prints just pm me or something i cant figure out how the add a pic
