i found some oil...not good...

Default i found some oil...not good...

i was taking pics of my truck today and found some oil sittin on top of the motor..can you guys give me some ideas on how it would have gotten there

it is either fuel leaking from the filter drain valve mixing with residual grime that has build up on the top of the motor or it is from the turbo. under the turbo there is a pedestal that the oil feeds and drains from the turbo. there are some o-rings that seal the connection up. that would be my second guess.... it's a chore to remove the turbo on these trucks.... not near as easy as my dodge....

Could also be bad o-rings on the hpop lines.

ive had two people tell me my turbo is leaking but those are the same guys that talked crap about my truck sayin it was slow till i raced one of them with a z71 truck and i spanked his *** from a dig....so i ono..i dont know who to trust and what are some signs of my turbo leaking

Relax... Its most likely just pedistal O rings... Cheap and easy to fix. Get some, remove turbo, replace O rings and reinstall turbo.

the hardest part of changing the o-rings is getting the up pipe collector clamp to come loose from the turbo. just remember the words PB Blaster, soak everything good the day before will help.

Or just go get a new one right off the bat. Here in ny if I have to take it off I order a new one cause the bolt snaps everytime
