Default 2002 7.3L GPM (Glow Plug Module) issue

Hello ladies and gents,

I have a 2002 ford 7.3l auto with the glow plug control module (not the relay)

Went to fire my truck up this morning and had a no start.

Finally got it started after trying several more times and returning it to stock mode.

I plugged in my scanner and the only code I pull is P0380 Glow plug/Heater circuit A malfunction.

What's been done,

Yesterday 3.27.18
Installed the TS 6 chip.
ran the truck all day and checked for codes no problems.

This morning, 3.28.18
Checked for codes pulled P0380
inspected the wiring between the PCM and GPM didn't see any problems.
unplugged the GPM and started the truck (after clearing the code)
No code (P0380) with the GPM unplugged.
Shut truck off plug in the GPM code returns after starting the truck.

Any advice?

Bad GPM? wiring? or is the chip causing issues with communication?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Im going off of memory, but there should be two bulk heads that plug into GPM. Unhook and ohm out each wire that goes to glow plug from the bulkhead. Rule out bad glowplug/ bad wiring, If all good you need a new GPM, about a 140 bucks for a ford unit if you shop around.

Thank you, I checked. All wires tested good.

Turned out to be the chip. I'm guessing wrong calibration/tunes or what not. It was for my dads truck he went out and got an edge that works well with his truck.

I'm keeping the TS 6 get it re-burned for my 99 once I finish the build.

look out with that Edge, I would'tt mess with any trans shift points. smoked a trans that way.
IM all stock now but use the edge for a heads up display, want to get a chip down the road, put in a tow valve body and a triple disc billet torque converter and it shifts beautiful and runs cool. Did a bunch of cooler mods to get the temps down but it works. I tow full time. 6.0 trans cooler and a remote spin on filter running Amsoil synthetic.
Glad you figured it out!
