Default clutch jerking/hopping after long drives?

I noticed that after long drives (100 miles or more) the clutch is jerky and requires a good bit of finesse to get going from a stop into 1st (low) or 2nd, or reverse without jerking the truck up and down. It seems to stay that way for the rest of the day.

But the next day, everything is fine all day, unless I go on a long drive. I can ease the clutch out entirely with no throttle and it goes nice and smooth. Or give throttle as I'm easing the clutch out if I want to start out faster.

I just purchased the truck 2 weeks ago, the previous owner (who owned the truck from brand new) said the clutch was replaced around 1 year ago.

I've never experienced this behavior with a clutch before, is this an indication of a bad clutch install, or something else? I've been driving back and forth between San Jose and Los Angeles, and each time (hauling, or empty) I notice this behavior.
