I have a 2000 f350 7.3l powerstroke edge programmer everything else is stock besides the 4inch exhaust and bellowed up pipes. I am throwing a p1316 code and it is intermittent. The cel flashes on and off randomly and has a slight missfire. I have changed up pipes, turbo,reman injectors with ford orings, i changed the orings 3 days ago bc the rwman orings failed after 11 months, reman idm, ford valve cover gaskets and harnesses. I cannot figure out wat is goin on with this truck. Please help

 

You need to check for continuity from the bulkhead on top of driver side valve cover to each injector, if all is good, then you need to check from that bulk head to the IDM terminal. IF all the wiring checks out, I,d suspect a dead short on one or more of the injectors. I found out the hard way. Had an injector that kept kicking an injector code but ohmed out fine, after doing a repair on the harness due to a monkey poking holes in the wiring jackets( not my truck) 1316 persisted , I dropped that injector and while messing with it on the bench i was able to hole the prongs on the electrical part of the plug( on the injector) and make it dead short to 0.0 ohms.
I called the injector manufacturer and said what do you do with your cores? he said they check the electrical, if it checks out it gets put on an remanned injector.....
This is why remanned have some problems with failure.
He did appreciate me telling him of that known (to me) bad injector, but think of how many get put back on.
NEW ALLIANT injectors are 260 bucks remanned are 170. its 600 difference but worth the piece of mind.
