Default new to diesels looking for a truck!

Hey guys new to diesel trucks got a old k2500 suburban I wanna retire, torn between 7.3 powerstroke and 5.9 cummins wanna realiable solid truck no sqeeky rattle bucket rather have a more solid truck then realiablity I know there all realiable I got around 15 20k....easier maintaince cheaper maintaince good power good mpg school me!!!

Well it depends on what you want out of your truck. 7.3's are cheaper and easier to come by and just as reliable if not more then any 5.9. Ford has always build a better truck all around the Dodge. That being said the Cummin's will out perform the Stroke everyday of the week unless big money is invested in the stroke. I personally like the look of the Fords in those years but all preference. Best years of 7.3 is 99 and 2000 overall. Any 12 or 24v Cummins is pretty much the ****. You really cant go wrong with either if you ask me.
