Hey guys , I recently bought a 01 7.3
It has son electrical problems
1st :has anyone had the truck wanting to start on its own no keys or while on starter starts going on its own , key in ignition chime is always on when I open door and I can lower and raise Windows when key is off all the time.
Glow plug problem: I installed new relay ,now I know a few are bad cause I check the continuity on them, and checks the current on relay ,power goes in but when I turn key on wait to start comes on but no power comes out of relay going to plugs it did the same with old and two new relays.
If anyone has any ideas try can share or causes , I've searched only thing comes up is gem.
I'd like to fix the glow plug situation first, thanks

 

I would drop everything else and focus solely on the starter issue before the truck catches fire.

 

Try looking up GEM "general electric module".
Under steering column behind fuse panel.
Water can get down and on top of module through light on top of cab or windshield leak then does funky thins with electrical system.
